Alexander Grebelsky has been appointed as a Chairman of the newly created Panel for International and Investment Disputes of the Arbitration Center at the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP).
The President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs approved the composition of the newly created Panel for International and Investment Disputes. The panel included more than 100 prominent arbitrators from Russia and another 23 countries: Australia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Great Britain, Germany, Georgia, Egypt, Spain, Italy, Kazakhstan, China, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Portugal, USA, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Scotland and Estonia.
The Managing Partner of the firm, Alexander Grebelsky, was appointed as a Chairman of the Panel.
Arbitrators of the Panel will consider disputes arising from foreign trade and other types of international economic transactions, and disputes related to foreign investments in the Russian Federation or Russian investments abroad, as well as other types of disputes involving foreign citizens or foreign legal entities.
The Statute of the Arbitration Center at the RSPP has included provisions governing the activities of new Panel.
In 2019, Arbitration Center of the RSPP received 305 new cases, some of which involving foreign organizations. The Center plans to expand its own international practice, including through the administration of disputes from BRICS, SCO and EAEU countries.
The Panel on International and Investment Disputes has become the sixth specialized Panel within the Arbitration Center at the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, along with the Financial Panel, the Panel of Corporate Disputes and the Panels in the field of construction, banking and the digital economy.

“The Arbitration Center under the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs is one of the leading arbitration institutions in Russia and has universal jurisdiction to resolve both domestic and international disputes. The work of the center is facilitated by many years of practical experience, since the Center is legal successor of the Arbitration Court under the RSPP (established in 2006), the Arbitration Commission at the Moscow Exchange PJSC (established in 1994) and the Arbitration Court of the National Association of Stock Market Participants (NAUFOR) (established in 1997).
New Panel includes some of most prominent world experts in the field of international commercial arbitration. The huge potential of the Center and the Panel, of course, can be used to resolve an even larger number of international proceedings.”
